Hotel LED Lighting
When hotels install energy efficient upgrades, they can save as much as 10 percent on energy consumption which would, in turn, reduce their electricity bills. Energy Star’s website said that to become more efficient, hotels can also improve the maintenance costs, enhance guest comfort and demonstrate an interest in energy conservation.
Hotels can also install occupancy sensors on lighting fixtures to help reduce energy consumption. The sensors can determine if someone is present and will turn off if a room is vacant.
Hotel LED lighting can serve as a great upgrade for hotels who want to improve their efficiency and reduce costs. The Roosevelt Hotel in Seattle installed LEDs in its lobby to save on electricity costs since the lights stay on 24 hours a day.
The LEDs can be dimmed and allow the hotel to control the lobby’s lighting, according to Electrical Construction and Maintenance. In total, the hotel installed 12 dimmers with LED technology.
“We have been extremely pleased with the end result,” said Patrick Hughes, chief engineer at The Roosevelt. “Not only has the overall look and feel of the hotel improved, but we have been able to see electric utility costs go down significantly, which is a major plus for any business owner.”
